GameDevBootCamp1 Intro

“Alright guys, I’m excited to announce a new boot camp that I’ve created for you – the Game Development Boot Camp. It’s a new project focusing on game development, encompassing everything from game mechanics to development strategies. We’ll continue to upload coding tutorials like before, but this boot camp will delve deeper into the aspects of game creation.

There’s also another website, game.com, which serves as a reference for game development. We plan to upload a substantial amount of material there, including video content about game development, how to create games, and how to develop specific gaming mechanisms.

Now, let’s shift back to the essence of this boot camp. As the name suggests, it’s all about game development. Growing up, I always dreamt of creating games. However, I initially ended up in finance and investment. Eventually, after achieving financial freedom and having more time, I returned to my childhood dream and began actively developing games. This journey has been incredibly fulfilling, and I want to share it with you.

Learning game development is more accessible now than it was 10 or 20 years ago. I remember starting with Java game development when there were hardly any game engines. Today, with advanced game engines, you don’t need to build everything from scratch. You can focus on creating the game itself, which is far more efficient.

With the emergence of artificial intelligence and technologies like ChatGPT, game development has become even more fascinating. You can now create complex games that were once thought impossible for indie developers. It’s an excellent time to learn game development – mastering a particular engine and the basics of coding can lead you to create games that would have required a team to develop in the past.

As a fan of Web 3 and the metaverse, I see game development as building not just games, but entire virtual worlds. These worlds could be places where you or others could immerse themselves, like living inside a dream. With virtual and VR devices, you can enter these worlds and experience multiple layers of reality, reminiscent of the movie ‘Inception’.

This is more than just a textbook tutorial; I want to share my thoughts and interesting news along the way. I hope to interact with you, exchange ideas, and learn together.

So, this introduction sets the stage for our new series of Game Development Boot Camps. You can find more on my YouTube channel and follow me on Twitter for updates. That’s all for now, and I’ll see you in the next video. Bye-bye!”
